"I want to create a dream-like quality in my work using prose fragments and imagery. The text is kept simple, allowing for a variety of interpretations while the objects float in space.
"Some of my paintings allow the viewer to rotate and position the work as they like, so the viewer can ask the work, 'which way is up?' The idea is not to get caught up in a particular concrete image or reality, but to let the mind and eye flow within the piece.
"All in all, my work is like a freefall into another dimension."

"These works explore the relationship between figure and ground, or between focused sight and the peripheral gaze. This dichotomy pervades perceptual experiences as when we focus the sight, touch, or hearing on a particular aspect of the sensory world while the rest sinks back from immediate awareness. It is also the way we think, by differentiating between ideas that are meaningful and those that can be ignored. I am interested in occupying both realms to shift back and forth between predetermined meaning in language, social codes, and images and the possibility of new meanings springing from naïve encounters. Looking at the pre-linguistic world of material and concrete perception, we can perhaps be in the position to reanimate words, and reconstitute language to better fit our experience of the perceiving body."
