Through a mixed media and collage based installation, Yvonne Mullock presents a surreal landscape of Vogue catalogue manicured hands and botanical images of fungi that collide the seemingly disassociated worlds of science and consumption and presents a playful and unnerving interrogation of both plant and human sexuality.
Yvonne Mullock is a multi-disciplinary artist working in a variety of mediums including drawing, sculpture, ceramics, video and textiles. Often informed by a process of research, Yvonne's practice engages the worlds of both nature and craft and uses people and surroundings as a spring-board for the creation of work that is site and context specific. Yvonne Mullock graduated from the painting department at Glasgow School of Art, Scotland and is currently based in Calgary, AB.
