Exhibition Runs: February 6th to 10th, 2013
Reception: February 9th, 7PM to 10PM Part of Exposure Photography Festival Artist Statement: As I mature in my work, I find that I am drawn to rural places which most would not go: Muddy ranges, abandoned buildings in the middle of what appears to be nowhere and the deep woods. I always discover something special on these explorations. I am very happy photographing people, but I will always try to capture what is unique in them, never compromising my vision and always searching for the spirit. The lessons and reminders of nature and her creatures interest me. I believe my photographs are most successful when they show beauty but also evoke a sense of wonder and mysteriousness. I want my photographs to offer people a world they don’t normally see. Bio: Courtney Townsend is an Alberta based photographer, specializing in equestrian, landscape and human photography.
