Shanaz Pasha, Committee Chair darkroom@uascalgary.org Shanaz Pasha holds a B.F.A. from the University of Calgary with specialization in Photography, 2004. She is a freelance photographer, producing both commercial and fine art work. Shanaz’s work is primarily focused on themes of North American ‘Urbanscapes’, West Coast Landscapes and the private world of Studio Portraiture. Chris Tait Stephan Legisa Tara Hadi Tara Hadi is a freelance photographer recently relocated to Calgary. In 2008, she received a B.A. in Visual Art from the University of Regina. Her photography has ranged from portraits to urban landscapes and everything in between. Currently her work focuses on impermanence, mortality and our search for connection. Exhibitions Committee
Sally Raab, Committee Chair info@uascalgary.org Sally Raab received a BFA in drawing in 2010 from the Alberta College of Art and Design. In addition to working at Untitled Art Society, she currently sits of the board of directors for Pith Gallery and Studios, Mountain Standard Time Performative Arts Festival (M:ST) and teaches at Studio C. Philadelphia grown, she maintains an emerging art practice based in installation, photography and performative video. In addition to art she likes natural specimens in jars, Roland Barthes, and a nice cup of coffee. Jill Armstrong Chelsa Mossing - Barewalls Coordinator barewalls@UAScalgary.org Chelsa Mossing sleeps, eats, feels jealousy, excretes, loves, feels repulsion, feels anxiety, paints, sweats, gets infections, laughs, lusts, likes teaching, loves children, breaks things, seeks attention, wants a dog, secretly believes in ghosts, makes social faux pas, longs for home, works on relationships, exercises as much as she can, cries, showers regularly, needs more libido, enjoys discourse, swears accidentally in front of children, hopes, is hopeless at guitar, needs to read more, avoids, procrastinates, jokes, takes on too much sometimes, fights with family sometimes, makes sculpture, likes geology, fears death, feels joy, loves nature, flosses, doesn't mind vegemite. (She also graduated from ACAD in 2009. She is interested in multiple concepts, and secretly wishes to be a scientist. If compared to baking, she is a loaf of banana bread whose oven is experiencing a power-outage.) Cindy Santa, Art Supply Exchange Coordinator artsupplyexchange@uascalgary.org Cindy Santa was born in Canmore Alberta, She grew up in Snow Lake, Manitoba, and moved back to Alberta in 1995 and now resides in Okotoks AB. Cindy is a wife and a mother to 3 boys. Cindy will be receiving her Bachelor of Fine Art from Alberta College of Art and Design in 2013, where she majored in Sculpture. Some of her accomplishments have been, in 2007 she received the Recognition Award while attending Bow Valley College. While being at ACAD she has won, the Delwyn Darling Memorial Scholarship, in 2010 she won the Janet Mitchell Bursary and also the James Lillian Budd Family Bursary. She also has 3 murals on board the Edmonton Queen Riverboat,(2003). She has done a backdrop for a HGTV show called “One Garden Two Looks.”(2006) Cindy was diagnosed Lupus in 2008 and since then she has worked with notions of disease and illness in the spiritual sense. Her work focuses on the unimportant, unseen, and the invisible, and brings light to these issues through her unique process involving multiple layers and incredible details. Dawn Saunders Dahl residencyfundraiser@UAScalgary.org Dawn Saunders Dahl attended Red Deer College (1993-96) the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary where she received her BFA in painting in 1998, and in ceramics in 1999. Dahl has volunteered extensively in the artist-run community as a Gallery Coordinator, during her schooling at Red Deer College, and at Untitled Art Society in Calgary until 2006, and as a curator of various group exhibitions within public exhibition spaces. Dahl has exhibited her work nationally and internationally since 1996, has participated in the National Portrait Competition, and was the recipient of the Royal Bank sponsored farm photography award. In 2010 she exhibited her project “Alberta Farm Women” at the Red Deer and District Museums--a portrait exhibit honoring today’s Farm Women of Central Alberta, and has recently been invited to participate in The Farm Show in the summer of 2011 at the Red Deer Museum as well as travel project components of the project in the TREX program in 2012. Dahl currently holds the position of Director of Programs and Marketing with The Works Art & Design Festival in Edmonton. |
