Volunteer with UAS
General Volunteers
UAS is run primarily on volunteer effort. We are currently in need of volunteers to help out around the gallery, as well as with fund raising efforts periodically. If you would like to join our mailing list for general volunteering calls to assist with UAS operations on a casual basis please email info@UAScalgary.org and let us know you are interested. Please list any specific education, or experience you may have if you wish to volunteer in a specific capacity. Individuals who log a minimum of ten hours of volunteer time will receive a free membership.
Casual Volunteer opportunities include: -bar tending opening receptions and special events -greeting at opening receptions and special events -install/strike assistance to artists -gallery sitting -painting parties! Join the Board of DirectorsUAS is seeking individuals with a basic knowledge of artist run culture and Calgary arts to join our board of directors. The board is responsible for governance of the society, hiring staff programming and visioning. Recent college graduates are welcomed to apply. Those who are interested in joining the board can apply to be appointed by submitting a CV and a brief statement of interest defining any specialized skills or knowledge. Board members are also appointed at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) each March. Vice-President of the Board of Directors

Interested individuals should contact info@UAScalgary.org and submit a 2-page maximum CV and a cover letter indicating an interest in UAS and any specific experience and skills useful to the position. Coordinators and CommitteesBecoming a coordinator or a committee member for UAS is a great way to contribute a specialized skill, gain experience working with non profits and build your resume. UAS is currently looking for professionals or recent graduates with the following skills to become coordinators:
-Marketing and PR to be a communications or marketing coordinator -Grant Writing to be a grants coordinator or grants assistant -Special event planning to be an events coordinator Joining a committee is a really great way to contribute your skills to a group, UAS currently has the following committees in action: -Darkroom Committee (Programs darkroom education, maintains and improves darkroom facilities) -Fundraising Committee (Brainstorms and runs fundraising events) -Exhibitions Committee (Assists the exhibiting artists, documents exhibitions, hosts receptions) For more information about becoming a coordinator or joining a committee please contact Sally Raab at info@uascalgary.org |
